The first Fiber+Fabric Craft Festival is just a week away! There is so much to see and do at Festival, it’s important to have a plan in place to make the most of your visit. We want  crafters to take advantage of as many classes, exhibitors, specialty pavilions, hands-on interactive zones, make’n’take stations, and meet’n’greets as possible.

Use the App to Maximize Your Experience

The Fiber+Fabric Craft Festival app is the best way to navigate every opportunity at Fiber+Fabric Craft Festival. There are 250+ vendors and hundreds of classes and experiences to engage with—the app is your strongest resource for making the most of Festival.

Register for Classes—Now!

This is your last chance to register for classes and ensure you don’t suffer from FOMO! Many classes are already full or filling fast—now is the time to lock in so you don’t miss experiences with your favorite teachers, designers, and makers!

Classes can be purchased on site, but availability is limited, and with the crowds expected for Festival, we predict on‑site registration lines will move slowly. If you already know what you want to take, advance registration is absolutely your best move. It guarantees your seat, saves time, and gets you into the festival faster.

Register now to:

  • Secure your seat in the class you want before it’s full
  • Skip long on-site lines
  • Ensure faster entry with a pre-purchased marketplace ticket – get to shopping the 250+ vendors quicker!
  • Build your weekend with confidence

If you wait until you arrive, availability will be limited—and you may miss the classes you were most excited about.

Make a Shopping List

It’s tempting to buy every amazing thing you see at Fiber+Fabric Craft Festival—and we wouldn’t blame you! But if you flew into Rosemont, you likely only have so much room in your suitcase for all of the goodies.

We recommend going with a shopping list in mind. Use the Festival app to explore the brands and businesses you love and make a list of your must-have products so you have an idea of your base level, must-have items. If you wind up buying a little extra… we’ll never tell!

Mark Your Route for Exploring Favorite Businesses

The Festival app is perfect for creating a route through the floor for exploring your favorite businesses. Visit the Floor Plan from the main menu and start building out your route. You can also visit the Exhibitor section to Favorite the brands you love, and then they will be easier to find on the floor.

Take Breaks by Browsing Exhibits

Don’t forget to take a shopping break by visiting the exhibits at Fiber+Fabric Craft Festival! There are several excellent exhibits scattered around the show floor, including:

  • Legendary the Quilts of Tula Pink
  • The Abyss Challenge and Storytime Challenge by Cherrywood Hand Dyed Fabrics
  • Renaissance Ribbons Exhibit
  • Monarch Butterfly Exhibit
  • London Entrance Art
  • Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) Exhibition
  • Trashy Hanger/Nowhere Collective Exhibition
  • Riversong Quilt Display
  • Dancing with the Stars – Garments and Costumes by fit specialist Joe Vecchiarelli

Browse Nearby Restaurants—and Make Reservations!

The Fiber+Fabric Craft Festival is located in the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, which is directly adjacent to the Parkway Bank Park Entertainment District. It’s the perfect place to take a breather between classes and shopping to grab a bite to eat and relax with your craft friends.

Check out our blog post for more information about the area surrounding Festival so you can begin to plan your off time. There are dozens of restaurants, bars, and cafes to explore, but keep in mind that large crowds of crafters are descending on Rosemont for this weekend. It’s smart to book ahead for meals to ensure you have places to eat and relax!

Attend Fun Social Events

Fiber+Fabric Craft Festival is not just for shopping and classes! The show also features fun make’n’take events, special pavilions (like the Trashy Market Pavilion, Handmade Goods Pavilion, and Spinning and Weaving Pavilion), interactive zones (like the Stitching Help Lounge), and Craft Talks, which occur every day of the show and feature talks on sewing, quilting, crochet, cosplay, community, craft business strategy, and more.

Have a Contingency Plan for All Your Goodies

We advised creating a shopping list so you can shop mindfully—both to stay within your budget but also to stay within your carry-on capacity if you’re visiting from out of town.

However, there is a very good chance you may buy more than you intended, so your best bet is to be prepared! Consider packing an extra, empty duffle bag to use for extra goodies—it can act as a carry-on and you can pay to check your other luggage to get everything home.

If you find yourself purchasing something larger that is too unwieldy for carry-on luggage, like a sewing machine or a loom, the Rosemont Post Office is a 5-minute drive from the convention center. We’ve mapped it here and below for your convenience.
